I agree. I'll see how I find it allowing three days. If need be, I'll reduce it.

Only exception I would give for the 3 day wipe out is my dad, due to his amazing typing skills (maybe one word a day :p)... I'll give you warning if he decides to join ;)

I have sent the following message, both in the forums and in PM, to a new user called MonkeyRabies:

Hey fuckwad. Quit spamming or be banned. You will not receive another warning.

Previously-banned IPs have been un-banned. The "PrettylikePlayer" account has been deleted and the IP temporarily banned for spamming.

I'm open to ideas regarding the possibility of creating a section for spam, as suggested in this post: http://www.graveyardofthegods.com/forum ... 1286#81286

I'd prefer to leave such a section closed to guest posting. If they want to post their spam there, let them register. Rogue spammers who spam other sections of the board would be subject to the same treatment spammers have been getting here recently.

What do you think?

Well, since I suggested it, of course I hate the idea.

I stopped unregistered/guests/banned from replying to all when I started my boards, got no spam at all. A couple of boards are not visible to the members asides the moderating team like admin/mod forums too.

If someone isn't a bot and wants to fill my forum with shit they might as well give themselves a name and a valid e-mail address to do so in the 1st place so we can reply to them even if they are a fly-by poster.

I've removed guest-posting privileges for most of the forums and it has made a big difference.

I took some time this evening to delete accounts that have a zero post count. You don't need an account to read the forums, only to post.

Some time ago, I added something to the registration agreement stating that accounts that go more than a day or two without a post will probably be deleted. I acted on that this evening and deleted more than 150 accounts, some of them fairly new, some of them old.

One of the possible marks of a bogus account is that the user doesn't post but intends to put information in the profile that are meant to use (steal) the board's bandwidth for gain. So, those who don't plan to post shouldn't bother to set up an account.
