For moderators

Postby NoD admin » Tue Sep 04, 2007 22:43

In order that I can ignore and be ignored, I now have two accounts. The account under which I'm posting right now has full administrative permissions. That means that nobody can put this account on their ignore list. I intend only to use this account for moderating and administrative purposes.

...and this account no longer has moderating or administrative permissions. That means I can put other users on my ignore list and others can put me on theirs. This is the account I'll use for normal participation on the board.

I recommend that other moderators also have two accounts, one for moderating purposes and one for normal participation. Of course, that will make it a little more inconvenient to exercise moderator powers but that's not necessarily a bad thing. ;)

That sounds spiffy, except you forgot to even mod me up. Now I'm just a normal user.

I didn't fix it. Didn't know you'd been unmodded. Hmm. Maybe it was doing some "settling in" while I wasn't looking. ;)

Are section only moderators like myself still immune to being ignored?

I'm fairly certain I have been in the past.

I don't know. I'll try the experiment.

Tried to add "Phentos" to my list of Foes and got this message:

You cannot add administrators and moderators to your foes list.

In the past, we were using a hack that allowed mods and admins to ignore and be ignored. At this time, there is no such hack available for the new version of the board.
