Are you an aspie? (Aspergers Syndrome)

I got a 182 out of 200, but I was also diagnosed with aspergers.

Holy shit some of these questions are so me. Do you talk too loud or too soft? Do people say you have an unusual gait? Do you suck at ball sports? Do you have issues with timing in conversations? Do you have values and ideas that are either old fashioned or way ahead of their time? Do you have an extensive vocabulary? Do you notice patterns in things all the time?

So, I dont know why I got high on "hunting" in the NT section... I answered the physical questions like any klutz would. Oh well

I talk way too loud, suck at all sports, suck at conversating, I have obscure notions or ideas. Sometimes it feels as if I lack a social filter in my head. I say the wrong thing at the wrong time and I tend to talk loud which ensures that all the wrong people hear it. I don't understand the unusual gait, I don't think I do. The whole social hinderance thing isn't all that bad, I've learned to deal with it for the most part, and it's made me a terrible liar, which isn't a bad thing, I don't believe. Alot of times I have trouble determining what is and isn't appropriate to say. These days it's not so bad but when I was in school, life sucked. My motor skills suck, as displayed in martial arts classes I used to take and fail at. At least I'm smarter than alot of other people! Haha. Ooh, in addition, I sort of have this tic in my hands, defined as 'finger flapping', I cover it up and it isn't noticable, and no one has ever noticed. Also, I hate the way certain fabrics feel, like my mom's couch is made out of some weird fabic and I cannot sit on it unless there's a sheet or something. Just thinking about it makes me squirm. There are other fabrics and materials I can't touch either. I'm ultra sensitive to light and sound. I can't sleep unless the room is pitch black and even the light from an alarm clock will keep me up all night. There are a thousand more things, these are just stuff I have to deal with on a day to day basis. I don't think it's bad at all.

LOL unleash the aspie!

The "gait" thing means that you walk or move funny. I do. Not only do I walk funny but I walk super fast. I also talk too loud and too fast and too much.

Soem sports Im actually decent at, just not "ball" sports. The sports I did well in were Tae Kwon Do, jv wrestling, and varsity swimming. Im a faaaaaaast swimmer

Once I became an adult I made this goal for myself to improve my social skills in the interest of getting laid more. It took some time, and lots of practice and trial and error, but eventually I honed the skills and the pussy flowed like water from a fountain. Mostly my practice involved mimicking, copycatting, and observing "skilled" social flowers and just repeating their actions.

One side effect is that I now have a huge stockpile of phrases and actions that I do in response to social situations, like automatically without thinking.

Hahaha. Yeah, dude, I fit in fairly well with the eclectic, intellectual crowd, which is all I really care for. I don't think I walk funny. No one has ever commented me on it. I may have when I was a child but I never took notice of it. To learn certain social skills, I made friends with the QB of the football team and the most popular dude in school (through the use of my friend Mary-Jane ;P). We became good friends and I tried to act like him. It worked well. I'm sure smoking alot of weed really helped me out as well, at least with the social anxiety stuff. So there's another reason why marijuana is great and should be legalized and how I learned to function in society! Ya hear that aspie kids? Smoke some weed! :smokingdevil:

What does being *NT* has to do with the rest of this.

Yeah, I don't think aspergers is very debilitating, aside from being completely unable to sit on my mom's couch. I mean, seriously, that fucking couch. It's texture is so fucking I don't know that it makes me clench my jaw just thinking about it. Also, for some reason, and this sounds weird but thinking about brushing my teeth, watching someone brush their teeth, or listening to the sound of someone brushing their teeth has the same effect. For some reason it doesn't affect me brushing my teeth. Do you know what I mean or is that just another instance of being having more aspergers than you? Haha.

I havent had much of an issue with textures or sounds... aside from nails on the chalkboard but everyone hates that sensation.

My only phobia is angry dogs. Im actually known for being excessively optimistic, excited, and generally happy. I dont think thats a result of the aspergers thing, but its like having maniac/depressive disorder but without the associated lows. Strange...

And yes, my aspergers is moderate or fairly mild relatively speaking. But it felt stronger and more of an obstacle when I was a child. Basically my adulthood regulated the most troubling symptoms, as adulthood tends to do with aspies.

Ya you got it worse than I do... compare our graphs! Plus, Im 29 and youre only 21 so perhaps it will settle down more for you in the next couple years.
