Predictions

Postby Curious Visitor » Thu Jul 15, 2010 17:28

I recently discovered time cube, and I am trying to understand it. However, one thing is bothering me.

In science, a theory's strength comes from it's ability to predict more so than it's ability to explain. For instance, Einstein's theory of relativity did not just explain gravity, space, and time, it predicted something entirely unseen before, gravitational lensing.

With prediction comes the idea of falsifiability, it can be either proved or disproved. In Einstein's case, his theory was proved when his prediction of gravitational lensing was observed.

In the time I have spent going over the TIme Cube material, I have yet to see anything about it that can be used to test the validity of the theory. What does Time Cube theory predict that is testable and falsifiable?

You are far better off delving into Richard's material than trying to make much out of Gene Ray's nonsense. Richard at least tried to put together something coherent that made some semblance of predictions, and I always found his mathematical ideas intriguing if ultimately somehat untenable. On that front, a recent development; the natural numbers non-coalgebraic axiom which states that there are no endofunctors of the category Set that give the natural numbers as a final co-algebra might have been worth discussing with Richard (presuming we could explain the details to his satisfaction). Sadly that will never happen now.
