It wasn't an error, it was tit for tat. Not everything a person says is said with the same level of seriousness. And, indeed, you are taking it upon yourself to do a little bit to influence the future of the species, putting out ideas that they may influence others to re-evaluate. it may not be your problem or your responsibility, but it appears to be one of your concerns.

Also, that I find you generally intelligent and thoughtful does not mean I find every perspective you have to be so. See: your promotion of the inmhendam line that everyone who can conceive of a reason for perpetuation of sentience must believe in some transcendent or otherwise mystical reason. While not the stupidest thing I have ever seen, it is an incredibly stupid claim.

As if my children are gonna be anything like me anyway... What bizarre reasoning. This is very much like the strange belief about perpetuating bloodlines or family names. They seem to believe there is something magical about blood, personality or family name that transmits through the generations.
